Jacuzzi vs. Sundance Hot Tubs: Which One Is Right for You?

Quick answer: Neither brand is universally better. Both Jacuzzi and Sundance offer small, medium and 6 to 8 seat hot tubs with hydrotherapy-focused designs and lounge options. Choose based on seating layout, where the jets hit your body and how you'll use the spa, and sit in both before deciding.

If you have narrowed your hot tub search to Jacuzzi and Sundance Spas, the harder question is not which logo is better. It's which line and model better match the way you want to use your hot tub.

The Great Escape carries both brands, which makes the comparison more useful: you can evaluate them on the same shopping trip instead of choosing whichever line a single-brand dealer happens to sell. Browse both lines here.

Jacuzzi: Start Here If Hydrotherapy Is the Priority

Jacuzzi is closely associated with jetted hydrotherapy. When comparing models, don't just count jets. Sit where you would actually sit and ask where the jets hit your back, whether you want upright therapy or a lounge, whether neck and shoulder jets matter, and whether users of different heights will be comfortable.

Sundance: Look Closely at Seating and Massage Zones

Sundance offers its own seating layouts and massage-zone approaches across small, medium and larger models. Two spas with similar outside dimensions can feel completely different once you're sitting in them, so seating geometry deserves as much attention as specifications.

Open Seating or Lounge?

A lounge gives one person a reclined, full-body position but uses considerable interior space. Open seating generally makes it easier to fit more people and move around. If the spa will usually be used by one or two adults for recovery, a lounge may be high on the list. If the hot tub is primarily a social space, open seating may be more useful.

Compare the Spa to Your Actual Patio

• Measure the planned spa footprint.
• Check access from the street or driveway to the installation site.
• Measure gates, fences and tight turns.
• Plan the electrical route.
• Leave room for steps and comfortable entry.
• Preserve service access.

What About Price?

Both brands span multiple product levels. Comparing a brand-average price is less useful than comparing equivalent models. Look at seating, hydrotherapy, insulation, controls, water care, warranty and the installed project cost for the specific spas on your shortlist. Our guide to what a hot tub actually costs walks through the full budget.

Our Advice: Sit in Both

Hot tubs are unusually personal products. A seat that feels perfect to one person can position another too high or too low. A lounge that looks ideal online may not be your favorite once you actually sit in it. A dealer carrying both brands lets you make that comparison directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Jacuzzi or Sundance more expensive?

Both have multiple series and price levels, so compare equivalent models rather than assuming one brand is universally more expensive.

Which has better jets, Jacuzzi or Sundance?

Both offer hydrotherapy-focused systems with different jet and seating designs. The better fit depends on where you want massage and how the seats fit your body.

Should I get a hot tub with a lounge?

A lounge can be excellent for full-body relaxation, while open seating provides more flexible capacity. Try both if possible.

Does The Great Escape sell both Jacuzzi and Sundance?

Yes. Both brands are part of The Great Escape hot tub assortment, so you can compare them side by side.
