What to Expect During Spa Delivery and Installation

You’ve picked the perfect spa. What's next?

At The Great Escape, we want your spa delivery experience to be as relaxing as the water itself. Whether it’s your first hot tub or a long-awaited backyard upgrade, here’s exactly what you can expect during the delivery and installation process.

Step 1: Your Delivery Day Call

On the morning of your scheduled delivery, one of our professional drivers will give you a call. We’ll confirm timing and make sure everything is on track before we arrive.

Step 2: Site Access + Spa Placement

When our team arrives:

  • We’ll first inspect the delivery path to your spa location.

  • Then, we’ll unload your spa using special dollies and equipment.

  • Our team will carefully place the spa exactly where you want it.

Please make sure the space is clear of debris, furniture, or overhanging branches ahead of time.

Step 3: Electrical + Water Setup (After Delivery)

Our delivery team does not handle electrical connections, but here’s what you’ll need to know:

  • If your spa is plug-and-play, you can plug it into a grounded outlet.

  • For wired spas, a licensed electrician will need to connect your spa to your home’s electrical panel (this should happen after the spa is in place).

Once connected, you can begin filling your spa with water—standard hose access is all you need.

Step 4: Start-Up + First Soak

Once filled, you can power on your spa and start heating it up. Most spas take 8–12 hours to reach temperature depending on the season and size.

Before your first soak, we recommend:

  • Running a startup clean cycle

  • Testing your water with the spa test strips

  • Adding the recommended sanitizers

Step 5: Service Visit (if included)

If your spa includes a start-up service visit, a member of our service team will stop by within a few days of delivery. They’ll walk you through:

  • Spa controls and jet zones

  • Water care basics

  • Routine maintenance and filter cleaning
